Week of March 3, 2008

We read our weekly poem, Does a Goat Wear a Coat? We reviewed letters and read books written by Dr. Seuss. We worked on rhyming words in our poem and in books. We wrote what would we do if the Cat in the Hat visited us!

**Please bring your reading folders and poetry books to school on Wednesday, March 5th.**

In math we are reviewing the numbers to 50 and shapes. We used toothpicks to make the shapes: diamond, oval, hexagon and trapezoid.

**Please bring in the following coins in a Ziploc baggie with your child’s name on it. 1 Quarter, 1 dime, 2 nickels 10 pennies.**

A Peek at Next Week…
Letter: Kk
Theme: Kites
Math: time and money

Kite Journal Homework
I am sending home a writing assignment. On the first page is a poem about a kite. Please read this with your child. On the next page have them imagine that they are a kite and have them draw a picture. They should write a sentence or two to go along with the picture,
such as “If I were a kite, I would…” You only need to turn in the writing page.

Gym Schedule
We will have a new gym schedule for the last trimester of school. We will have gym on Tuesdays. This will begin the week of Mar. 3rd.
