We have been working on the letter “Ll” this week. Our poem for the week was Falling Leaves. We read our poem and found color words throughout the poem. We have practiced writing Ll’s and read our Ll booklets. We used leaves to form the capital L and lowercase l. We learned about adjectives (describing words) to compose a sentence about our Superstar of the Week.

In math, we finished our chapter on sorting. We used colored goldfish crackers to sort by color. It was a tasty activity! During the month of October we will be learning to recognize the four basic shapes, patterning and number recognition and writing 0 to 10.

Kindergarten -- September 24, 2007

We have been working on the letter “s” this week. We read our poem and found s’s throughout the poem. We practiced forming the capital and lowercase letters “S” and “s” by tracing the letters in sand, using dry erase boards and on paper. We started stations this week and worked in small groups doing a variety of reading activities. We enjoyed our Silly Sock Day!

In math, we worked on sorting two attributes, such as the same size and the same color. Next week we will be completing our first math chapter on sorting. Our next chapter will focus on patterning.
