Week of 1/20/20-1/24/20



We will be celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday this
weekend.  Yesterday we watched Our Friend Martin
which discusses MLK’s life in an understandable, relevant way.
The students loved it!


Have a wonderful weekend.  Don’t forget to check your child’s
grades on-line.  We are at the halfway point of Trimester 2,
also the halfway point of third grade!!   


Coming Up Next Week:

Spelling:  New spelling words will be coming home on Tuesday. 
Students will also be receiving their homework menu, which will
Be due on or before 1/31.  There will be a test that day as well.


Reading & Language Arts:  Please continue to remind your child to
read daily and fill in the January Log. We are using our Communities
textbooks during Reading class to help us fluently read and comprehend 
our unit, which focuses on culture.


Social Science: We continue our science unit on inheritance
and traits. We’ll also be continuing in our Communities Social Studies
textbook reading about immigration. Today we read and took notes on
Lesson 3 and have our quiz on Tuesday. We’ll then
Take a break and create an “Immigration Scrapbook.” 







Mrs. Walega's Math Class: The measurement section of this unit will end
Tuesday with a quiz.  We’ll then start fractions. Our tentative test
date for Unit 4 is Friday, 1/31.  A X6 quiz will take place on 
Friday.


Conference sign-up on Sign-Up Genius should be coming out in the next
week or two.  These winter conferences are for my math students.  See
you all soon!
