Week of May 12, 2008

We read our weekly poem, Five Little Tadpoles. We have been reading fiction and non-fiction books about frogs. We have been writing a sentence and illustrating in our ABC Countdown Books. We worked on a special Mother’s Day Project.
In math we have been working on the writing and solving subtraction problems. Put some objects on a table and take some away, how many are left. Have your child tell you the math problem.

Field Trip
On Thursday, May 15th we will be going on our field trip to Brookfield Zoo. Please make sure that your child brings a disposable sack lunch with their name on the bag. Our zoo trip is outside all day, so please make sure your child is dress appropriately for the weather.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
A special thank you to the PTO for organizing all the special treats this week. I love teaching your children. They are very special to me. I have truly enjoyed working with each one of them this year. I will be sad to see them go on to first grade. I will miss them very much.
Thank you to all of you who participated in this week’s meals. The food was very good and it was so nice of you to think of the teachers. It was very much appreciated!
