Week of June 2, 2008

This will be our last newsletter for the year. We read our weekly poem, Graduation Day. We have been learning to read our color words and writing a sentences in our ABC countdown books. Our popcorn word forr this week was “for”.
In math we are continuing to work on subtraction.
A Peek at Next Week…
Theme: Graduation
Math: subtraction

Graduation Day
Kindergarten Graduation will take place on Wednesday, June 4 at 10:00 for the A.M. class and 2:00 for the P.M. class. The children should dress nicely and they will be wearing a graduation cap.
Children are to arrive at school that day at their normal time. Parents and other family members that would like to attend should arrive a little bit before 10:00 or 2:00 and go directly to the gym. The ceremony should last 30-45 minutes. There will be a short reception in the classroom following the ceremony. Children are allowed to go home with their parents at this time or they may stay and ride the bus home at their normal departure time.

Picnic Day
We had a great time at picnic day. We played games outside and ate lunch in the lunchroom like First Graders! It was fun!
