Week of October 22, 2007

We have been working on the letter “Bb” this week. Our poem for the week was Bats are Sleeping. We found Bb’s in our poem and the popcorn word “the”. We enjoyed singing the poem together. We practiced printing the capital B and lowercase b and completed My Bb Book. We worked on recognizing the punctuation marks: periods and question marks and why we use them in sentences. We are learning that a capital letter needs to be at the beginning of a sentence. Our new popcorn word is “can” for this week. Our homework for this week will be handwriting Bb’s and writing 1’s and 2’s.
In math, we are learning how to compare two groups to determine which group has more and less. We started number writing.
