Today is the end of Trimester 1. What a wonderful first one-third of
the year we’ve had!! Grades will be finalized soon. I hope you have a
wonderful Thanksgiving break with your families. This blog will include
information for the two days next week and also the following week.

Spelling: No spelling next week; New sorts will come home on
Monday, 12/2. That menu homework will be due on or before
Friday, 12/13.
Reading & Language Arts: We will soon be starting our unit on culture.
Our first story is The Keeping Quilt by Patricia Polacco. It’s a great
story about traditions in the Russian culture.
November reading logs are due back on or before December 2.
Social Science: We will be continuing our unit on modern day
Downers Grove! We’re also going to be starting Science on
December 2. Our unit is about inheritance and traits.
Mrs. Walega's Math Class: We will continue our unit on multiplication.
Here is the schedule for our Multiplication Facts:
week of 12/2: x2 facts
week of 12/9: x5 facts
week of 12/16: x10 facts
We will resume after break in the following order: x11, x3, x4, x6, x7, x8, x9, and x12. The order is so we get the easier facts done first and build confidence and practice over time. Please have your child use flashcards or other games or strategies to practice facts every night to build math fluency! Thank you!
