We
will be doing some reading/writing end of the year activities. We will be
working on writing activities to reflect over the things we liked about second
grade and what we will miss when we move on to third grade.

Thank you to all the parents for running our parties. I appreciate all who sent in treats for the
parties and those who helped organized the games. Thank you to Mrs. Raftis, Mrs. Milad
and Mrs. Martyka who were our copy moms all year. It was a great year!!
It’s hard to believe that we have completed this school year. The children have come so far since that first day of school in August. I am very pleased with the progress they have made. Thank you for all the support you have given to your children and me, which has helped make this such a positive experience for all.
I want the children to have a wonderful and restful
summer. There are some activities that
you can do over the summer to ensure a smooth transition for your child to
third grade. Please take your child to
the library for frequent visits.
Encourage them to read to themselves, to you, and to one another. Continue to practice math flashcards,
working especially with addition and subtraction facts, practice counting money
and telling time. These activities,
which do not take much time, but it will give your child a wonderful boost for
those first days of school in third grade.
I have enjoyed teaching your
children and watching them grow over the year.
I will truly miss them as they move on to third grade.
