READING
Next
week, we will continue reading the story The Big, Bushy Mustache. In phonics we will
be focusing on the the vowel pairs ou, ow and the suffixes -ly and -ful.
Vocabulary
words are bushy, costume, disguise, handsome, mirror, behind, soldier, story
and mustache.
Comprehension
strategies are predict/infer and problem solving.
In
writing we will be working on writing a paragraph with a problem and solution.
In
grammar we will be working on plurals.
Reading Logs are due on Monday, February 3rd.
MATH
Next week we will be finishing our
chapter on Data and Graphs. We will have
a chapter test on Wednesday. Our next
chapter will be on Probability.
We will be working on money soon. If you haven’t sent in the coins please do
so as soon as possible.
**Please
make sure you send in the following coins in a small container or
baggie (with with your child's name on it) with the following coins: 20 pennies, 10 nickels, 10 dimes and 7
quarters.**
Science
Our
next chapter will be on animals. We will
be learning about mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, and amphibians.
Service
Project
We
are collecting 100 can of food for the West Suburban Food Pantry. We will be collecting these items until our
100th day of school which will be on Feb. 13th. Thank you.
