READING

            Next week we will be having a writer's workshop on persuasive writing.  The children will be learning how to persuade someone of something through their writing.
                        In phonics we will be focusing on the digraphs th, wh, sh, ch and the long vowel sounds of e and a.
In grammar we will be working on combining
sentences.


                               MATH
                                      We will be working on line plots, points on a grid and pictographs.  Our chapter test will be on Thursday.  Our next chapter will be Data and Graphs.   Please remember to practice flash cards daily.
We will be working on money after the holiday break.  

            **Please make sure you send in the following coins in a small container or baggie (with your child's name on it) with the following coins:  20 pennies, 10 nickels, 10 dimes and 7 quarters.**


Holiday Mitten Tree
We are collecting mittens, hats, gloves, and scarves to donate to needy families.  We will be collecting these items until December 19.

             



  Student  of the Week
Niya is the Student of the Week!  She has a lot of friends, goes to Bulgarian school and likes to read books .  Her favorite animal is a puppy.  Her favorite color is black.   When Niya grows up she wants to be a Teacher.


Field Trip
We will be caroling at the Fairview Nursing home on Thursday, December 20th.  The children are to bring a bag lunch that day.  No hot lunch will be served since our lunchtime will be after the caroling.
