READING
Next week we will be having a writer's workshop on persuasive writing. The children will be learning how to persuade someone of something through their writing.
In phonics we will be focusing on the digraphs th, wh, sh, ch and the long vowel sounds of e and a.
In grammar we will be working on combining sentences.

MATH
In math we finished our chapter on money and had our chapter test this week. Our next chapter will continue with money. We will be learning how to make change, add and subtract money amounts and learn about the decimal point and dollar sign.

Student of the Week
Oskar is the Student of the Week! He likes to read books about animals, runs very fast and he likes to do math problems. His favorite animal is a jaguar. His favorite color is red. When Oskar grows up he wants to be a Police Officer.

Supplies Needed
Each child needs to bring in a shoe box for making a valentine holder. The box needs a lid that fits on the box. Make sure your child's name is on the box.
