READING
We will be reading the story called Moses Goes to a Concert. This is a realistic story about a deaf boy names moses, who goes to a concert. The deaf percussionist helps Moses and his classmates realize they can be anything they want.
The vocabulary words are deaf, instruments, signs, hearing, percussion, vibration.
In phonics we will be focusing on words with the long i vowel sound (igh, ie).
Comprehension strategy is noting details.
In grammar, we will be working on adjectives.

MATH
Next week we will be learning about comparing and ordering larger numbers using the symbols >, < and =. We will use those symbols to compare 3-digit numbers. Handwriting We will be learning to write the cursive capital letters T, F, G, S, L, P, and reviewing the capital cursive letters we have done so far. Please review the lowercase letters with your child.

Field Trip
We will be going to the Chicago Botanical Garden on Tuesday, May 25th . Please make sure your child has a sack lunch, no snack needed that that and that he/she dresses appropriately for the weather.

Thank you to the PTO for the Unique Assembly last Friday. We enjoyed the author Craig Pierce and his dog Honey. His stories were very good.
