April 28, 2008

We read our weekly poem, Zoo. We worked on sounding out words, putting sentences together that make sense using popcorn words. We read the story Dear Zoo and we came up with describing words (adjectives) to tell about the animals in the story.
In math your child is learning how to join two numbers to make a larger group. Your child will begin to read symbols, such as plus signs (+) and be able two find sums for problems set up vertically as well as horizontally.
A Peek at Next Week…

Math: subtraction

Thank you to everyone who volunteered on our sign-up sheets at Open House.
I am looking for volunteers from the AM class to bring juice boxes and napkins for the graduation and in the PM class to bring cupcakes, juice boxes and napkins for graduation and popsicles for popsicle day, goldfish crackers for munchie day and lollipops for lollipop day. I am looking for 2 volunteers from the AM class and 1 volunteer from the PM class to help put on the Graduation Caps before the ceremony. Let me know if anyone can help. Thanks.
