READING
Next
week we will be reading the book called The Name Jar. This story is about a young girl named Unhei,
who moves from Korea and toes to school in America for the first time. Other children can’t pronounce her name and
tease her, so the thinks about choosing an American name. We will be discussing and writing about how
to treat our friends.
MATH
We are finishing our
chapter on addition strategies. We will
have our chapter test on Tuesday. Our
next topic will be covering subtraction strategies.
Student of the Week
Reagan is the Student of the Week! She likes to watch TV, play softball and do
cheerleading. Her favorite animal is a puppy
and his favorite color is indigo. When Reagan
grows up she wants to be a Hair Salon Owner.
Reading
Logs
Reading logs are due on October 1st. All the children who have read for 21 days in
September will participate in a reading reward.
Second Grade Musical

excited to announce that our 2nd grade musical will be Thursday, November 20th
at 7PM in the Lakeview gymnasium. Please mark your calendars! Students will be
listening to their show this week in music class. Some students may even get a
