We read our weekly poem, Brushing. Our new popcorn word was “have”. We completed our Dd books and practice writing the letter “Dd”.
We have been working on writing our names properly – starting with a capital letter and using lowercase letters for the rest of our names. I will be stressing this throughout the end of the year. Please have your child practice this at home.
In math we worked on writing the numbers and talked about the following shapes: oval, diamond, hexagon and trapezoid. Three of these shapes are found in the pattern blocks we work with at school.

We read our weekly poem, I’m a Little Valentine. Our new popcorn word was “me”. We completed our Vv books and practice writing the letter “Vv”.
For Valentine’s Day we sorted our boxes of candy hearts by color. Each child made a graph to show how many hearts of each color he/she had. After that we could eat the hearts! It was a very interesting activity and the children did a nice job sorting and counting.
We celebrated the 100th days of school with counting by 2's, 5's 10's 20's and 25's to 100. We wrote our names as many times as we could in 100 seconds. We had fun!
