READING
This week we will be reading two stories about
dinosaurs. Little Grunt and the Big Egg
is a fiction story and Mighty Dinosaurs is a non-fiction story. We will be comparing the literature and
discuss cause and effect.
In phonics we will be focusing on words with nd, nt, mp,
ng, nk and the vowel pairs ow and oa.
Vocabulary words are
disaster, earthquake, erupting, lava, pitch, volcano, fossils, packs, prey,
remains and reptile.
Comprehension strategies
are cause and effect and drawing conclusions.
In grammar we
will be working on singular possessive nouns and plural possessive nouns.
MATH
We
have begun our chapter on measurement.
We are measuring objects in inches.
Next week we will be measuring in yards, feet, inches, centimeters and
meters.
Open House
I
enjoyed seeing everyone at the Open House!

fair. I was able to purchase books for
our classroom to enjoy. I appreciate
your thoughtfulness! The children have
been working very hard and it shows in their beautiful work. I’m very proud of them and you should be too.
