READING
Next week we will be reading the story
Erandi’s Braids written by Antonio Hernandez Madrigal. In this story, Erandi hopes for a new dress
for her birthday. Her mother finds holes in the fishing net, which makes Erandi
wonder how there will be any money for her birthday gift. We will be using inferences to understand the
character’s feelings, motivations and actions.
We will be exploring the text structure in narrative texts to determine
the characters and the plot of the story.
MATH
Our
next chapter will be on two-digit addition.
We will be exploring how to add 1-digit numbers to 2-digit numbers and
then adding 2-digit numbers to 2-digit numbers.
Please remember to practice flash cards daily.
Student of the Week
Anna is the Student of the Week! She likes to do backbends, be on a cheerleading
team and play with her dog. Her favorite
animal is a dog and her favorite color is pink. When Anna grows up she wants to be a Superstar.
